A Magnesium Fire Starter is essential a pile of magnesium shavings that when scraped off onto some wood and them lit with a spark from the striker, burns at 5400 degrees Fahrenheit which is hot enough to light even damp wood.
One starter will provide enough shavings to start hundreds of fires.
